There are two primary Greek words that describe Scripture which are translated word in the New Testament. The first, logos, refers principally to the total inspired Word of God and to Jesus, Who is the living Logos. The second primary Greek word that describes Scripture is rhema, which refers to a word that is spoken and means “an utterance.”
The process of eating a balanced diet offers an analogy to the process of memorization and meditation. Trying to eat an entire meal in one bite is impossible, but taking a small bite at a time eventually results in consuming the entire meal.

God wants our thoughts to be His thoughts so that our actions will be in line with His actions, and meditation on Scripture is simply exchanging our faulty beliefs for the truths of God’s Word.
